NHS 111

NHS 111 is a service that’s been introduced to make it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services in England. You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency. NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right help, whatever the time.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

When to use it

You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it’s not a life-threatening situation. Call 111 if:

You need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency.

You think you need to go to A&E or need another NHS urgent care service.

You don’t know who to call or you don’t have a GP to call.

You need health information or reassurance about what to do next

Don’t know who to call for medical help

We do understand that sometimes you may forget your appointment, or that other important life incidents happen and that you sometimes no longer need the appointment. We do ask that if you cannot attend your appointment, please cancel it or notify the practice why you did not attend at your earliest convenience.

We have a large number of people who do not attend their appointments every single week leading to wasted doctor and nurse time, leading to delays in you being able to get an appointment.

You can telephone us on 0208 843 9584, cancel via Systm Online, or come in and speak to Reception.

Please let us know well in advance if you cannot make your appointment so that it may be allocated to another patient.

It is clinically better for you to be seen at the surgery where we have better facilities, diagnostic aids and lighting to assess you. We work closely with Ealing Community Transport to bring patients to the surgery where possible.

Home visits are ONLY for housebound patients and for those too ill to attend the surgery. Home visits are not for those who do not have transport.

If you need a home visit please contact the surgery as early as possible in the morning, before 11:00am, and give one of our receptionists details. A GP will call you back for more information and confirm whether a home visit is appropriate depending on the urgency of your needs.

Since 1st October 2022, there have been some changes to the way GP appointments are provided. Our Primary Care Networks are working together and are able to provide more appointment hours to patients across NW London.
The changes mean that local practices are able to provide more appointments during the hours that best suit patients, this includes evening and weekend appointments. Patients can book by contacting the practice during surgery’s working hours. Out of practice hours, patients can check the practice website for details of how to book local appointments or call the surgery where the answer phone will provide booking details. 111 online/phone can also book patients in for local appointments in the evening and at the weekend.
Evening and weekend appointments may take place by phone, video, or face-to-face depending on clinical need. Patients may be offered an appointment at their GP practice, another local GP practice, or another local NHS service. These changes mean we can provide more appointments for patients when they most need them.
